Kidsjoy
Created by Martin Harriague for the dancers of the Ballet de l’Opéra Grand Avignon, Kidsjoy is a piece designed to be performed in places not dedicated to the performing arts: primary and secondary schools, but also hospitals, community centres and prisons.
Through solos, duets and group moments, Kidsjoy portrays a diverse youth, still marked by innocence, diving into our memories of childhood and adolescence: school benches, first friendships, first loves, those formative moments when emotions and desires take shape. Kidsjoy rekindles the joy, fragility and intensity of these first times.
Conceived as a participatory project, the show invites the audience to join the dance, to share the energy of the group, sometimes even to sing. The soundtrack, alternately rock and electro and guided by the choreographer’s own musical tastes, gives the piece an energy that is as festive as it is moving.
Kidsjoy thus becomes a celebration of youth, joy and movement, where dance asserts itself as an accessible and unifying language.
